This being an unknown, i can really research abou the character but that doesnt
really matter.
First I'd like to say that the textures match perfectly not like some i can
mention which have a high quality scan and a low quality background. Godo
work!
Well the mood conveys loneliness and so does the texture and the work which
looked like it came out of a canvas. The girl looks like she was about to pour a
river of tears.
anyways i have to go and i think this is really rushed buttt:

havent done it for quite some time (MT poeple need some rest too you
know).
For me, I've seen many versions of this made by different people but yours by
far is the best i've seen as in an earthly form whereas others have the scan
placed in clouds, mist.... so on. wait WTF the scan looks like Hime Mononoke.
The quality and the style look like those of the Ghibli studio. Oh well it was a
good anime. But im sorry to say that the background doesnt not suit the picture
much although the foreground: grass, ground, misty does. Its just that there is
no indication in the scan that they care about the town behind them, rather they
are looking onwards, forwards.
But I guess that It can comply to your title 'A new beginnning' as in the sense
they are leaving town and starting something new.
As for quality, excellent job. I have seen this scan many times and it has
awesome quality. You did the background good also.
Well, lets see... i give my ratings out of 10. So you would have to have scored
a:

Okay lets start with the characters. From what I can deduce, the fairies are
trying to annoying the devil girl with magic hence the blue orbs in the
background right?
The other girl is trying to study and the expression on her face and the
position of her hands make her look like shes really bored. The fairies are the
only source of light in the whole room except for those floating blue orbs.
Makes it feel a bit like Harry Potter.
Okay...
Good points:
-The background perfectly matches the mood with the girl sitting down.
-There are shadows for every object
-The mood and theme are conveyed perfectly
-Quality of the picture was good
Bad (or should I say could be improved) points:
-The girl sitting should show some reaction at the girl falling over like anger
or surprise or something. perhaps a change in facial expression?
Otherwise from that little mistake, the art was very well done. I can see that
you put a lot of effort into it.

kinda tell that its a background with a scan. Prehaps make the sand around her
